Concepts
Understand the foundational ideas behind Insight Cloud and how the platform is structured.

Basic Concepts
Workspaces
A workspace represents your organization’s dedicated environment inside Insight Cloud. Everything your team uses - apps, data, AI, permissions, subscriptions, billing, and user settings lives inside your workspace.
Workspaces are user based. Nothing is shared across organizations unless explicitly enabled through roles or permissions.
Apps
Apps are the core building blocks of Insight Cloud and are essential to the platform. Every app contains a complete analytics workflow built around a specific problem, question, and dataset. App exist in your workspace and the App Store.
💡 Note: Apps do not store their own data. They reference datasets in your workspace, ensuring consistency and governance across the entire platform.
Collections
Collections are a way to group apps in into meaningful sets so teams can access insights faster.
Collections can be: purchased as packaged solutions in the App Store or curated manually on your Home page for personal or team use.
Collection Types:
Collections help organize work around business objectives, retailers, roles, or workflows, making it easier for users to find exactly what they need without navigating the entire catalog of apps.
Publishers
Publishers create and maintain the apps available on Insight Cloud. They create the analytics experiences you subscribe to and use across your workspace.
💡 Note: Each publisher owns the evolution and reliability of their app, ensuring you always receive high-quality insights.
Data Layer [COMING SOON]
Data Layer gives you a unified view of all datasets powering your apps and the ability to bring in your own data to do more in the platform.
💡 Note: Your apps dynamically reference these datasets. When new data arrives, apps reflect updated insights immediately. This creates a single source of truth across all workflows.
Intelligence [COMING SOON]
Insight Cloud provides two types of AI experiences:
Roles & Permissions
Roles define what a user can see and do in Insight Cloud. Permissions determine the specific actions a user is allowed to take across apps, data, AI features, and administrative tools.
💡 Note: Roles and permissions are managed in the Org Management section
Teams
Teams allow you to group users inside your workspace so you can manage access to apps at scale. Instead of assigning apps to individual users, you can assign them to a team and everyone in that team inherits access automatically.
Teams do not replace roles or permissions — they work alongside them. Roles define what a user can do. Teams define who gets access to which apps.
Teams are especially useful for larger organizations where app access varies based on job responsibilities.
💡 Note: Removing a user from a team removes the team-based app access from that user.
Subscription Tiers [COMING SOON]
Insight Cloud is available in two tiers: Standard and Pro.
Each tier is designed to support different levels of analytics needs and workflows - from teams getting started with apps to organizations ready for advanced AI and cross-app intelligence.
Insight Cloud Standard
The standard Insight Cloud experience provides everything you need to explore apps, view insights, and navigate the platform
Standard is for teams who need turnkey analytics apps and guided platform support without in-app AI analysis.
Insight Cloud Pro™
Advanced AI capabilities and future integration workflows.
Pro is for Organizations that want automated insight, connected workflows, and enhanced AI capabilities layered directly on top of their apps and data.
