Insight Overview:
The Historical Out of Stock insight highlights past out-of-stock events in order to drive future inventory management and replenishment decisions.
Visualizations Included:
- In-stock rate refers to the percentage of time that a particular product was in stock and available for purchase during a specific period of time. Calculated by dividing the number of days the product was in stock by the total number of days in the reporting period.
- Out of stock rate refers to the percentage of time that a particular product was out of stock and unavailable for purchase during a specific period of time. For a historical out of stocks report, the out of stock rate would be calculated by dividing the number of days the product was out of stock by the total number of days in the reporting period.
- Represents the number POD level out of stocks for the time period.
- Lost dollars due to out of stock POD’s
- Geographically map your OOS instances by Store Number. Bubble size represents the number of out-of-stock items for that specific store.
- Aggregated bar chart to monitor which Brands contribute to the most out-of-stock instances. For instance, in the chart above, the highest number of OOS instances occur on Patterson and Oasis.
- Aggregated bar chart to monitor which Items contribute to the most out-of-stock. For instance, in the chart above, the highest number of OOS instances occur on Sweet Snacks and Frozen Oasis. Hover over the bars for additional information.
- Aggregated bar chart to monitor which states contribute to the most out-of-stock.. For instance, in the chart above, the highest number of OOS instances occur in California and Texas.

- Crosstab showing the detailed item and stock information. Two key columns are the Sum of Missed Dollars (highlighted in blue) and the Average In-stock Rate. You can easily target which stores are missing the most dollars due to out-of-stock days by product item. In the above example Renton, WA has the highest missed dollar amount due to a 57% in-stock rate. This missed dollar amount can be reduced by replenishing and adjusting inventory in this store.
